Linda Hoag Linda Hoag was born in Washington D.C. and raised in northern Virginia. There she was impressed with all the natural beauty and the abundance of color in the landscape. After college she married her highschool sweatheart, John, and they moved to the mountains in northern New Mexico. There she fell in love with the majesty of the Sangre de Cristo mountains (southern Rockies) and the Taos area. Linda developed a keen eye for painting and started taking painting lessons with Judy Gentry. She also studied with Barbara Zaring, Kim English and finally with Ray Vinella, a master painter living in Taos.

The intense color and light of New Mexico, especially the area surrounding Taos has inspired her landscape paintings. Ray Vinella has described Linda as "a true colorist." It is her use of color that makes her paintings strong and exciting. She does not try to recreate the exact image but tries to show the viewer her impression of all the colors present in the scene.

LH Linda Hoag shows her work at the Sundance Gallery located in the Sundance Restaurant located in Red River, N. M. and by appointment at her studio also located next to the restaurant.
